Flex Wheeler is one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time and 4x winner of Arnold Classic.
According to multiple news outlets, Wheeler was rushed to the hospital to get emergency surgery last week. However, there were some complications during the procedure. As a result, he needed to have a partial amputation on the right leg.

As of the time of publishing, we don’t have much information on his surgery and Flex Wheeler has yet to make a formal statement regarding the situation. According to our sources, Wheeler is in good spirits and intends to speak on it in the next few days. The fact that he is maintaining a positive outlook speaks to just how strong he is mentally.
Arnold Schwarzenegger also said previously that Wheeler is one of the greatest of all time. Moreover 8x Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman also said on record that Flex Wheeler is one of the greatest bodybuilders he has ever competed against.
Wheeler never won Mr. Olympia however he was one of the fan-favorite bodybuilders. He last competed back in 2017, placing 15th at the Mr. Olympia Classic Physique. In fact, that was his first competition since 14 years before that. Despite that fact, he has maintained his popularity among fans of the sport.
Additionally, Wheeler had his most success from the early ’90s, and 2000s. He won the Arnold Classic in 1993, 1997, 1998, and 2000. Moreover, he competed and scored highly in many top-level competitions, beating out some impressive names.
Wheeler has had some kidney issues that he has been dealing with for quite some time. As a result, this caused the legendary bodybuilder to retire. These compounding health issues are tragic to see. Nevertheless, that just makes his positive mindset all the more impressive.
