Bodybuilding Legend Dorian Yates Provides Some HIT Training Tips

Dorian Yates Provides Some HIT Tips

Six-time Mr. Olympia winner and bodybuilding legend Dorian Yates knows a thing or two about high-intensity training. Dorian Yates couldn’t help but advocate for the overall benefits HIT can offer inside the gym and outside of the training room. As a storied bodybuilder with heaps of recognition, Yates maintains that effective HIT systems can restore confidence and positivity.

Dorian Yates is a welcome figure in the bodybuilding community. The six-time (all consecutive, 1992-1997) winning Mr. Olympia is a strong proponent of HIT exercises and various diets. Essentially, Dorian Yates‘ school of thinking, like many others, proposes that peak muscle stimulation can be achieved through short and intense workouts instead of slow and long forms of exercise.

In a brief video published to Yates’ YouTube channel, Dorian Yates Nutrition, the former Mr. Olympia winner details some of the raw benefits that arise practicing a HIT program. With nearly 40-years of experience practicing HIT, Yates is sold on the positivity it can bring about in both mental and physical attributes of life.

“I have been practicing HIT pretty much since I started lifting, which is around twenty years. Dorian Yates explains. And I’m nearly sixty now, so almost 40-years I’ve been using myself and then been training other people from a variety of different people, from ladies that wanted to shape up and lose weight to professional athletes [and] professional bodybuilders. So [there is] a whole wide range of people that I’ve used these methods on and refined it over the years.”

As one of the more open personalities in bodybuilding, Dorian Yates has touched on topics that many shy away from. For example, Dorian Yates has spoken about the importance of mental health and also the pressures of using performance-enhancing drugs while he competed in his prime years. Following his earlier years of competition, Yates is still a massive proponent for consistency in any craft one practices.

“Apart from the obvious physical benefits you get from doing weight training, high-intensity training, there are other benefits. Dorian Yates continued. You’re going to learn to be consistent, you’re gonna learn discipline, and these can apply to really any other areas of your life, you need to have focus, you need to have discipline, to succeed in anything.”

“To succeed in business, a relationship, anything in your life, this is going to make you more positive and a confident person because you’re going to face challenges in the gym and then you will overcome the challenges, and then other challenges in life are going to seem easier. Dorian Yates said. So you’re going to get more than a physical benefit from the training system.”

Watch the video below:

Dorian Yates walked away as the champion of Mr. Olympia. While few have been able to reach the pinnacle of bodybuilding, there is an even smaller faction of competitors who are capable of walking away while on top. According to Dorian Yates, high-intensity training programs are integral to achieving positive outcomes by conquering challenges in life, inside or outside of a gym.
