The annual 2023 Europe’s Strongest Man competition is one of the most highly anticipated events in the strength sports community. So, when Giants Live, the organizers of the event, recently revealed the five events that will make up the competition, it was met with excitement. The events will all take place on April 1, 2023, at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, England.
The weights and time limits for each event were not disclosed, however, the fact that these events have been held in the past provides us with some insight into what we can expect. Athletes will be challenged in a variety of ways as these events are designed to assess different aspects of their strength and endurance.

Log Press
The first event of the competition will be the Log Press Ladder, which is a staple of strongman competitions. Competitors will have to lift progressively heavier logs overhead, with the weight increasing after each successful lift. This event tests the athlete’s raw upper body strength, as well as their technique and endurance.
Load & Push Race
The second event is the Load & Push Race, which involves moving heavy objects across a distance as quickly as possible. This event tests the athlete’s speed and explosive power, as well as their ability to maintain a high level of intensity for an extended period of time.
Deadlift
The third event is the Deadlift for Reps, where competitors will have to lift a heavy weight off the ground as many times as possible within a set time limit. The deadlift is one of the events that are most synonymous with Strongman. So it is no surprise that it found its place at the 2023 Europe’s Strongest Man contest.
Conan’s Wheel
Conan’s Wheel is the penultimate event of the 2023 Europe’s Strongest Man and it is a test of pure strength and endurance. Competitors will have to hold a heavy weight and walk in a circle, which is known to be one of the most painful experiences in Strongman.
Castle Stones
The fifth and final event of the competition is the Castle Stones, where competitors will have to lift a series of heavy stones onto pedestals of varying heights. It is often one of the most visually impressive events, as the athletes must lift stones weighing hundreds of pounds.

Looking at the lineup for the competition, it is clear that we are in for a great show. The reigning champion, Oleksii Novikov from Ukraine, will be returning to defend his title. However, he will face some tough competition from a number of incredible athletes.
Adam Bishop, the reigning Britain’s Strongest Man, is one of the favorites to win the competition. In recent months, he has been in excellent form and will strive to add another title to his collection. Graham Hicks is also in the lineup, and he has been making a successful comeback after a difficult period filled with injuries. Rauno Heinla, the holder of the Masters’ Deadlift World Record, is another athlete to watch out for, as is Pavlo Nakonechnyy, one of the rising stars of the sport.
It is difficult to predict the outcome of 2023 Europe’s Strongest Man, as so much depends on individual performances on the day. However, with a lineup this strong and events that are quite fitting, we can expect to see some incredible displays of athleticism and strength.
